Exceptional incoming news!
Shropshire council have just passed the motion to become a county of sanctuary! 
Huge thanks to everyone who has got us here, Ruth Houghton for inviting us in, Laura fisher for supporting our work all these years, Dean Carroll for supporting the motion and holding the portfolio for Refugees, Councillor Kate Halliday for bringing it to the council , Jacki Cairney for working so closely with us , the SSR team and last but not least the wonderful people, Shropshire inhabitants for helping to provide a welcoming environment for refugees and people seeking asylum in the county for the past 5 years.
This feels like a real accreditation to everyone who has supported the families and individuals that have come to live in Shropshire and for those who will be coming in the future.
Shropshire really really is a county of sanctuary and we should all be proud of that fact.
